The Fobang Foundation in Cameroon aims to help the
population at large to accept biological sciences as a basis for
their perception of health and disease in order to achieve more
effective disease prevention and cure.
The strategies to achieve this are based on the conviction that
development has to start with people and that every learner must be
encouraged to become a teacher. The FF pools its human resources
through the mobilization of students and lecturers of university
biology departments, biology teachers of high schools, and students
of secondary schools as well as non-scholarly youths in the village
communities to become volunteers |

Major activities are the promotion of health among
young people, in particular the prevention of Malaria and HIV, the
development and promotion of health education, the use of drama to
make all these activities more effective, the development of the
capacity to do surveys to gather relevant health data of the
Cameroonian population and the provision of vocational training
activities and support to health services in village communities
through participatory community partnerships. |

To achieve this goal the Fobang Foundation
proposes:
- To provide altruistic people with opportunities for volunteerism
and to support them in such efforts,
- To encourage health education and increase access to health
services especially for the rural and urban poor and the handicap,
- To support educational opportunities for youths in medical and
bio-science related disciplines,
- To assist in science and health service innovations and
discovery.
